Vaccination survey - help us plan
As we move towards a new, post-pandemic normal, we are planning for a more normal fall at Augustana. That means a return to the teaching, learning and working that is more like the Augustana we know, and what we do best.
Transitioning to a new normal will not be quick and easy, and we know there are many questions about how we can make the transition safely. Much will depend on the status of the pandemic and vaccinations on campus and in our larger communities.
While the college is not at this time requiring that you receive a vaccine, we do ask community members to share their vaccination status. (Survey link follows below.)
• The more people who are vaccinated, the more we decrease transmission and its impact on the health of our community.
• A decrease in the transmission, or the health risks of transmission, supports our ability to return to our pre-COVID learning and working community.
We have become accustomed to many practices needed to operate safely during the pandemic, and we will need to understand how changing those practices will affect the risk of spreading COVID-19. Knowing the status of vaccinations on campus will help us to understand this.
This information also will be helpful as we consider whether it is necessary and appropriate to require the vaccine of any of our community members.
A link to this confidential survey will remain available on the COVID-19 information page.
The survey will ask you to provide your employee identification number and your vaccination status. Your responses will be directed to Human Resources and will be treated as confidential.
Anonymous reporting is an option for employees who would rather not reveal their identity but are willing to provide their vaccination status. At a later date, identity information may be required.

Performance Engagement - year end appraisals
With the end of the academic year quickly approaching it's important to reflect on the challenges and accomplishments our teams have faced throughout these unprecedented times. Access to the online performance engagement system will soon be available and employees will be required to access the system and update the status of their assigned goals in order to prepare for conversations with their supervisors.
Please be on the lookout for more communication coming soon!
Campus Health Clinic Closed for Summer
The Augustana Convenient Care Powered by Genesis will be closing for the summer as of 5/21 and will reopen in the fall. During this time employees are encouraged to use the Rock Island Wellness Center located on the lower level of city hall (1528 3rd Avenue, Rock Island). Hours of operation for the Wellness Center are M-F, 7:30am - 3:30pm. Due to current COVID protocols the Wellness Center is not taking walk-ins. Patients must call ahead of time to schedule an appointment.
To make an appointment please call (309) 732-2990.
Thank-you bonus for employees
Earlier this week President Bahls shared that the board voted to award each full-time employee of Augustana a $1,000 bonus ($500 for part-time employees working 50% or more) as a sign of appreciation. The Office of Human Resources is working with the Business Office and Payroll to determine eligibility and pay dates. Please be on the lookout for more information coming soon.

Friendly Reminder from the Business Office
Dear community members,
As we approach the end of this budget year (2020-21) on June 30, 2021, we would like to remind you about the following purchasing and accounts payable-related matters in order to facilitate our financial year-end close.
All requisitions for this budget year need to be entered by June 15, 2021, in order to allow sufficient time for purchase order approval, ordering and invoicing of goods and services shipped on or before June 30, 2021. Additional time may be required if the vendor is not currently in our system.
When entering a requisition for this budget year, please add “Must be invoiced by June 30, 2021” in the printed comments section or speak with the vendor directly to make sure they are aware of this deadline. Requisitions can be entered for early next fiscal year by using a prepaid budget account number, and we are happy to offer assistance with this if needed.
Current budget year invoices must be signed, coded with an account number, and returned to Accounts Payable by July 9, 2021. If you will not be on campus during that time, please make sure someone else is available to perform this task. Invoices need to be dated on or before June 30, 2021, to be applied to this year's budget, and invoices dated after June 30 will be applied to the 2021-22 budget year.
Please make any fiscal year 2020-21 PCard purchases by June 25, 2021. All purchases after June 30, 2021, will be considered purchases for the fiscal year 2021-22. Please note that transactions generally do not post until a day or two after the actual purchase date, and the June 25, 2021 deadline ensures that purchases will be correctly applied to our current fiscal year.
Please reach out to the following personnel if you have any questions:
Jill Harris - AP Supervisor
Kristen Vickers – AP Assistant
Malhar Saheed – Director of Procurement
