Dear Augustana community,

I write to provide you with an update on the search for the ninth president of Augustana College.

The recruitment process is well underway and our partners at Academic Search report that the response has been strong and includes many highly qualified prospective candidates. They also note that candidates have expressed incredible respect and admiration for Augustana and view the presidency as very desirable.

Many of you have taken time to recommend people within your personal networks, and I am grateful for your interest and engagement in the search. You may continue to send suggestions to pressearch@augustana.edu. The application deadline is Sept. 6.

The Presidential Search Committee will begin the work of reviewing applications and narrowing the field later this month, and I will continue to update you at significant points as the search process unfolds this fall.
