Augustana Community Health Outreach Organization
Students interested in public health and outreach are invited to learn about Augustana Community Health Outreach Organization (ACHOO).
ACHOO will hold its first meeting of the year and plan its activities.
Recent projects have included:
• Adopting a recently immigrated World Relief family by providing Christmas gifts (for the past 15 years!)
• Sponsoring a “Zombie Run” on campus to promote disaster preparedness
• Hosting American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR & First Aid certification courses on campus
ACHOO will add Public Health Week activities this year and welcomes suggestions from new members.
ACHOO’s mission is to promote health awareness and education through various outreach projects for both the Quad Cities community and the Augustana campus community. Augustana Student-Medical Reserve Corps is a subgroup of ACHOO whose members complete a national training program in disaster preparedness and serve as part of the Rock Island County MRC in the event of a local disaster.
