The Dean of Students Office and Student Life division of Augustana are committed to the mission of the college by offering challenging experiences outside the classroom that develop qualities of mind, body and spirit. Promoting student success and personal growth and preparing students for life after college are central to the work of the Dean’s office and Student Life division.
With those developmental goals in mind, Augustana College’s Community Principles of purpose, openness and respect, accountability, responsibility, and care are foundational to the work in the Dean of Students Office. The office strives to create the best environment, where every member of our community may achieve a sense of belonging, personal fulfillment and success.
The Student Life division, led by the Vice President and Dean of Student Life, is responsible for numerous student services and programs, including residential life, student activities, intercollegiate athletics, leadership programs, Greek life, campus safety and emergency planning, counseling, campus recreation, student well-being and resiliency and student conduct. The Dean of Students Office regularly partners with Academic Affairs to address student needs holistically.
