Augustana Symphony Orchestra: Portraits of England
The Augustana Symphony Orchestra will present "Portraits of England," with varied pictures of English life and culture through the lens of the classical music repertory.
Johannes Brahms’s youthful depiction of the school experience comes to life through his rambunctious "Academic Festival Overture." The program continues with Gustav Holst’s wistful and pastoral stroll through the countryside in "Two Songs Without Words." The performance closes with Edward Elgar’s deeply personal and intimate musical vignettes celebrating the relationships of those closest to him.
