Erikson Lecture: Criminologist Dr. Amber Beckley, 'Studying Life-Course Criminology Across the Course of a Life"

Criminologist Dr. Amber Beckley will give the Stanley Erikson Lecture in Public Affairs, "Studying Life-Course Criminology Across the Course of a Life."

Dr. Beckley is originally from Milwaukee and has a Ph.D from Stockholm University in Sweden, where she studied causes of offending. In this lecture she will discuss her research, and how her experiences studying in Europe have influenced her perspective on crime in the United States.

She is a member of Stockholm University's Department of Sociology's Demography Unit working at Duke University in North Carolina as a Marie Curie International Postdoctoral Fellow with the Moffit-Caspi Team.

Stanley Erikson came to Augustana in 1948 and founded the political science department here. He was its chair until his retirement in 1974.
