Musical theatre: "The Stud and the Babe"

Corey Trahan and Shelley Cooper will perform "The Stud and the Babe," a musical theatre concert.

Dr. Trahan is the director of musical theatre for the International Performing Arts Institute in Thailand and Germany. Cooper is an assistant professor of theatre arts at Augustana. They will be accompanied by Dr. Luke Tyler, assistant professor of music at Loras College.

Dr. Trahan will participate in several events at today and Monday.

From 3:30-6 p.m. today, he will offer a musical theatre masterclass featuring singers from the Webster Competition. All are welcome to attend, observe and learn.

On Nov. 20, he and Cooper will offer a lecture, "The Business of Theatre," from 10-11:15 a.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the Brunner Theatre Center. They will discuss non-profit and commercial theatre, and specifically non-profit management for theatre.

Also on Nov. 20, they will conduct interviews and auditions for the International Performing Arts Institute in Bavaria, and Germany Opera/Musical Theatre and Directing Fellowship. This will take place from 12:30-2:30 p.m.; location to be announced.
