QCSO Masterworks II: Postcards from the Wild West

Take an adventure to our own Wild West beginning with John Williams’ sweeping overture to the 1972 motion picture The Cowboys. Acclaimed violinist Bella Hristova joins the QCSO to premiere American composer David Ludwig’s celebratory and touching Violin Concerto motivated by the ideas of marriage and community. In Augustana composer and audience favorite Jacob Bancks’ Into the Wild, you will explore both literal and metaphorical wilderness. Finally, follow the exploits of the infamous outlaw Billy the Kid in music from Copland’s rustic and popular ballet.
