Beyond Chivalrous Men and Hoop-Skirted Women: Gender in Civil War Imagery

Dr. Jane Simonsen, Augustana professor of history, will give the lecture "Beyond Chivalrous Men & Hoop-Skirted Women: Gender in Civil War Imagery". 

The lecture is in conjunction with an exhibit at the German American Heritage Center: "The Civil War: Seen Through the Eyes of German-American Caricaturists" through Feb. 4.

The German American Heritage Center is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, and noon-four on Sundays.
