Faculty Recital: Dr. Robert Elfline
Dr. Robert Elfline, associate professor of music, will be performing on piano in a recital with soprano Jamie-Rose Guarrine, bass-baritone Seth Keeton, and cellist Karl Knapp. It will be a recital of songs set to the texts of Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson.
The recital opens with song v=cycles set by Lee Hoiby, Andre Previn, Lori Laitman, and Ned Rorem. The last two works on the program were commissioned especially for this event and will receive their world premieres this Friday - Daron Hagen's On the Beach at Night (2017), and Scott Gendel's To Keep the Dark Away (2017).
