The Salon: Connie Chinazzi on curiosity
The Salon is a weekly gathering of students, faculty, staff, and administrators from across campus each Thursday in the Brew from 11:30am - 12:20pm. It is a time and place for discussion of interdisciplinary ideas and shared experiences; everyone is welcome to participate.
The theme for this term: What are the limits of what we can know?
This week, Connie Ghinazzi (Tredway Library) will lead our discussion on curiosity:
As children, we're curious about everything, asking question after question and wanting to know how everything works. However, that kind of open, wondering spirit is so often dampened as we "grow up." And yet, as adults, curiosity still plays a crucial role in what we know and don't know.
How important is curiosity in your life in and out of school? Do you welcome others' curiosity or view it with suspicion? How can we stay curious?
Note: The Salon will not meet during Week 5, but will meet again during Week 6.
