Dr. Shelley Haley: 'What's a Black Feminist like me doing in a field like this?!'

Dr. Shelley Haley will present the Antiquity in the New Millennium lecture: "What's a Black feminist like me doing in a field like this?!"

She is a professor of Africana studies and Classics at Hamilton College, the Edward North Chair of Greek and Greek Literature, and president of the Society for Classical Studies. She applies Black feminist and critical race approaches to the study and teaching of Classics.

In this lecture, she will be reflecting on her experiences as a Black feminist in a largely white, male field.
