Freistat Grants info meeting postponed
Today's info session has been postponed.
Applications are available for the Freistat Center Study Abroad Grants for students.
Grants may be used for travel this summer or next academic year (2023-2024).
The deadline to apply is Feb. 10, 2023.
The center offers grants for students who travel abroad for:
• Student-faculty fellow on-site undergraduate research
• Student in-country language and cultural enhancement programs
• Student on-site intensive language study
• Student research in peace-related studies
Student grants cover language study abroad as well as research in a broad range of international study that is consistent with the Freistat Center vision.
Grants support research in peace studies or in any area of inquiry that promotes active conflict resolution.
Such research may take a theoretical form, involving significant historical, social, economic, or political inquiry; or it may take a more practical form, involving solutions to real-world problems, such as issues involving the health and welfare of a given people or issues pertaining to environmental integrity or sustainable forms of energy.
The application requires a resume, personal statement, program materials (if necessary), an official transcript and two letters of recommendation.
Freistat Grants provide funds for research programs and language immersion programs. Students interested in the summer language programs or any semester program which will contain a significant language study component should consider applying for a Freistat Grant.
