Genesius Guild: 'Electra'
The Genesius Guild will present "Electra," a Greek tragedy by Sophocles, July 2-3 and 9-10.
Set in the city of Argos a few years after the Trojan War, the play tells of a bitter struggle for justice by Electra and her brother Orestes for the murder of their father Agamemnon by Clytemnestra and their stepfather Aegisthus.
Performances are on the outdoor stage at Rock Island’s Lincoln Park. All performances begin at 7 p.m. Refreshments are available for purchase.
Genesius Guild is a community theatre serving the Quad Cities since 1956 with free classic theatre, opera and ballet.
