Guest lecture: Jonathan Rebelsky, 'When the Sky Turns Dark'

Within a year, four eclipses will be crossing over much of North America, including large swaths of the United States. In order, these were a partial solar eclipse on Oct. 14, 2023, a partial lunar eclipse on Oct. 28, 2023, and an upcoming penumbral lunar eclipse on March 25, 2024, and then a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 (the first since 2017, and the last the U.S. will see until 2044).

This talk will cover the physical properties which cause eclipses to happen.

An additional vocational meet and greet will be held in Tredway Library from 2-4 p.m.
