Guest speaker: Dr. Matt Fockler
All students and campus community members are invited to this talk, which will examine the Bureau of Land Management efforts to ensure that marginalized populations are no longer disproportionately and adversely impacted by federal actions and are given a voice in the federal public land management decision making process.
Dr. Matt Fockler will present a hot-off-the-presses case study where two seemingly compatible public land "resources" - renewable energy and environmental justice - came into conflict. It's a wicked problem scenario with seemingly no optimal solution. Or is there?
Dr. Fockler is the Great Basin Zone Socioeconomic and Environmental Justice Lead for the Bureau of Land Management in Nevada, Idaho and Utah and acting Branch Chief for Non-Renewable Resources for the Nevada Bureau of Land Management.
