Opening reception: Rowen Schussheim-Anderson

"Tapestries of Innovation," an art exhibition by Professor Emerita of Art Rowen Schussheim-Anderson, will be featured at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria (305 SW Water Street, Peoria, Ill.), through April 11.

There will be an opening reception March 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m., featuring piano virtuoso Derel Monteith, drinks, snacks and free admission.

About the exhibition

While this Quad City artist and educator employs centuries' old techniques, Rowen Schussheim-Anderson's innovation delights fans of weaving. Her influences include color field painters like Mark Rothko to inspire blending subtle transitions, despite surfaces built row by row on a loom.
