Sexual Assault Awareness Month Community Symposium
You deserve to know your options.
Students and community members are invited to this supportive, educational symposium focused on understanding available resources and choices following sexual assault. This event, which runs from 5-7 p.m., is designed to provide clear information in a respectful, empowering environment.
In partnership with UnityPoint SANE Nurses and Family Resources, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about:
- What a medical forensic exam can involve — and that it is always your choice
- Advocacy support during a hospital visit and beyond
- Reporting options, including campus and community pathways
- What investigations may look like
- Title IX rights, protections, and supportive measures
- How campus and community partners work to promote safety
This event is informational only. You are welcome to attend, listen, step out if needed, or simply gather resources. Participation is not required. Support advocates will be available.
Whether you are seeking information for yourself, to support someone else, or to better understand community response systems, we invite you to join us.
Knowledge can help restore a sense of control. Community helps us move forward together.
