10 Excellence in the Liberal Arts winners listed

Ten students are recipients of the Excellence in the Liberal Arts Award, which provides Augustana students with $400-$4,000 for international study or summer programs in the humanities. It was established by Dr. Dan Lee, professor of religion, and his wife, Ruth Lee.

The 2018-19 recipients of the award:

Kayli Ahuja, a senior from Rock Island majoring in psychology and communications studies.

Christine Beach, a junior from St. Charles, Ill., majoring in history education, middle grades education and social science.

Shelby Kuepker, a senior from Deer Grove, Ill., majoring in English.

Jacqueline Kwasigroch,  a junior from Monee, Ill., majoring in communication sciences and disorders.

Jessica Lechtenberg, a senior from Fort Atkinson, Iowa, majoring in public health and sociology.

Emma Nordmeyer, a senior from Warrenville, Ill., majoring in sociology and Spanish.

Thao Pham, a junior from Hanoi, Vietnam, majoring in psychology and communication studies.

Kim Phan, a senior from Loves Park, Ill., majoring in biology.

Ariana Solis, a sophomore from Marengo, Ill., majoring in business administration and international business.

Daniel Williams, a senior from Milan, Ill., majoring in psychology.

The award recognizes students’ academic achievements, the amount of scholarly work done in the liberal arts, including the humanities, achievement in co-curricular programs and leadership and service both on and off campus.
