Afternoon sessions

Various locations

1:15-2:30 p.m.: Support Teams' "Student Ready" Program with EAB (by invitation)
Support Team participants will learn about best practices related to retention and sense of belonging and will take a deeper dive into what it means to be student-ready.

1:15-3 p.m.: Local Field Station Visit in Milan, Ill.
Faculty and staff (limited to 20) are invited to an exclusive tour of the Collinson Field Station in Milan, Ill., to see firsthand the exceptional teaching and research opportunities available at Collinson and learn about Augustana’s other premier field stations: Beling Ecological Preserve in Moline, Ill., and Green Wing Environmental Laboratory in Amboy, Ill. This immersive experience led by Professor of Biology and Field Stations Director Dr. Steve Hager will provide an in-depth understanding of the unique features and facilities at each location. He’ll also address questions about logistics and scheduling classes, student groups and research visits. Explore how these pristine natural environments can elevate engaged learning and research initiatives in the life and physical sciences, humanities, social sciences and pre-professional programs.

Attendees must provide their own transportation (carpooling is encouraged) and meet at the Collinson parking pad, 2313 83rd Ave., Milan, Ill. (about 7 miles south of campus). Please complete this form to reserve a spot in the session. Specific questions can be directed to Dr. Steve Hager.

The field trip includes light hiking. Participants should wear long pants and sturdy footwear, and bring water. A limited supply of water, insect repellent and sunscreen will be provided.
