Christmas at Augustana tickets, livestream

Christmas at Augustana has been a Quad Cities tradition for 11 years. There will be two performances this year: one at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and one at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

The best seats remaining are for the Sunday concert.

The performance takes place in a spendidly decorated Centennial Hall, 3703 7th Ave., Rock Island.

Six Augustana music ensembles with some 300 student musicians will share their talent. The Augustana Brass Ensemble, Ascension Ringers, Augustana Symphony Orchestra, Augustana Choir, Augustana Concert Chorale and Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble will be featured.

Quad Cities’ ABC affiliate WQAD News 8 will live stream the 2 p.m. performance Saturday. The performance will be rebroadcast at 9 a.m. Christmas Day on MY TV 8.3, and again at 4 p.m. Dec. 28 on Channel 8.

The Augustana Symphony Orchestra will offer early 20th-century American composer George Whitefield Chadwick’s "Noel" from his four-movement orchestral work, "Symphonic Sketches."

Tickets are $21 for adults, $16 for senior citizens, and $11 for students and children.

Parking is available in the lot east of Centennial Hall. Additional parking is available across 38th Street and west of the Denkmann Memorial Building.

The will-call desk will open 90 minutes before each performance. Doors open for audience seating a half-hour before performances. Latecomers will be seated at an appropriate break in the performance.
