Carolyn Turnquist Linn, widow of Maynard Linn ’62, has written a second book, “Loving a Beautiful Mind,” based on her late husband’s struggle with schizophrenia.

John Malvik started a two-year term as chairman of the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Rock Island County, which operates the Quad Cities International Airport, in July 2018.

Lee Selander was elected chairman of the board of directors for Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, a nonprofit, statewide social services organization based in Des Plaines, Ill.

Ruth Hollander Banwell retired from teaching orchestra after 18 years in the Janesville (Wis.) School District. She will continue to teach private string and piano lessons.

Anne Morris was awarded Best of Show at the Cresco Fine Arts Show, Cresco, Iowa.

Lisa Hawks Lynch is the chief financial officer at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru, Ill.

David Klak is in his third year of teaching 10th grade English at Galena Park High School (Texas).

Mathew Dornbush was appointed interim dean for the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business, UW-Green Bay. He has been serving as the associated vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and director of Graduate Studies since 2015.
Sherry Herzberger adopted a boy in February 2018. He was born on Feb. 15, 2018 (Mike; Grace, 5).

Dale Owen, CEO of Ascentra Credit Union, was featured in a Q&A interview in the Quad-City Times about his 30-year career in the finance industry.

Kristin Lear is the library director for the Auburn, Ill., Public Library District.

Lindsay Daniels had a daughter, Iris Elizabeth Catherine (Richard; Cecilia). In March 2018, Lindsay became the associate director of elections at the Democracy Fund.

Zenaida Landeros was named executive director of the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Christian Garcia attends the Indiana University School of Medicine in Bloomington, Ind.

Sam Totten was named head men's tennis coach at Illinois Wesleyan University. At Augustana, he was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Man of the Year for 2017-18.
