Jouwana Bzal receives annual $10,000 Zobrist Scholarship
Jouwana Bzal '22 is this year's recipient of the $10,000 Benedict and Donna Zobrist Scholarship. Bzal, from Plainfield, Ill., is majoring in French and biology on the pre-medicine track.
The Benedict and Donna Zobrist Scholarship was established by Karl Zobrist '71 in memory of his parents, Dr. Benedict K. '47 and Donna Anderson '48 Zobrist, and in thanksgiving for their family's Augustana experiences.
The scholarship, supported by the Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award Foundation and Augustana College, is awarded to a junior majoring in history, political science, English, philosophy, foreign languages or other humanities. It is based on the student's academic performance, financial need and potential for a meaningful public service career or contribution to international studies or service.
