Model UN informational meeting Sept. 27

The 2023 American Model United Nations (AMUN) conference will be held Nov. 18-21 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago in Chicago, Ill. AMUN is an annual simulation that seeks to educate students about the structure and function of the United Nations while giving them the opportunity to engage in intensive area research and to employ their knowledge in a focused and thoughtful environment. A few of the topics under discussion include cybersecurity, women’s economic empowerment, preventing and combating human trafficking, rights of indigenous peoples, nuclear disarmament, promotion and protections of the rights of children, illicit trade in small arms, international migration and development.

The Political Science Department will host an informational meeting on Sept. 27, 4:30 p.m., in Old Main 310 for interested students to learn more about the event.
