New mental health program for students: UpLift
Student Counseling Services (SCS) has a new addition to their stepped-care approach to supporting the mental wellness of students at Augustana College: UpLift.
UpLift is a telehealth platform that provides affordable therapeutic and psychiatric care. UpLift bills your insurance first, so you are only responsible for the co-pay, which can be as little as $0, depending on your insurance provider. Students can also pay out-of-pocket if they prefer.
SCS partnered with UpLift to provide three oft-requested counseling services:
- While SCS provides brief, short-term care for all students, some students desire more long-term care to manage their college experience. With Uplift, students can access long-term care providers that fit their needs and identities.
- Sometimes, a student's mental health can impact their success in the classroom. To ensure that the classroom experience is equitable, Augustana College offers academic accommodations to all eligible students. This eligibility is contingent on proper documentation from a licensed provider. In the first session, UpLift therapists can provide documentation of any clinically diagnosed mental health disorder.
- UpLift maintains a network of psychiatrists for students who want to use medications to manage their mental health. Medication for ADHD is available when appropriate.
Our partnership with UpLift helps to strengthen our stepped-care approach to mental wellness, complementing other services like student counseling services, TAO and TimelyCare.
We hope that as a student or as a stakeholder invested in the success of an Augie student that you will remember these resources in times of need.
