This is a fall semester course combined with a travel component to Montana in the month of January. Participants will visit with faculty and students at Salish-Kootenai College, meet members of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Council, and interact with the Amish community and learn more about their way of life. The group will spend time at the National Bison Range, which will provide an opportunity to observe (from the safety of an SUV) bison and other animals.
The group will be based at Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp, winterized cabins on the shore of Flathead Lake with the Mission Mountains visible across the lake. Activities at the camp include cross-country skiing, nature trail walks, and enjoying a fire in the fireplace in the evening.
