Viking Club Golf Outing returns Sept. 18

After a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 10th annual Augustana Viking Club Golf Outing is planned for Sept. 18 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.

For the last 10 years, this event has celebrated the Augustana student-athlete experience. This year, the Golf Outing kicks off an Augustana Athletics Alumni Day where alumni, parents and friends of Augie athletics may connect and attend a number of home athletic events.

The day coincides with Family Weekend activities and includes a Viking Club Tailgate. The Vikings' football team will battle Millikin at Lindberg Stadium at 6 p.m. Golf Outing participants will have access to the Ken Anderson Academic All-American Club and can watch the game from the Viking Suite.

Home of the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic, TPC Deere Run is regarded as one of the premier golf courses in the Midwest. TPC Deere Run has been honored by Golf Digest, ranking No. 42 among the United States Greatest Public Golf Courses. Golfweek Magazine also ranked TPC Deere Run among the top five courses in Illinois.

The Golf Outing check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. All participants can access the driving range and putting green prior to the 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. A round of golf, a cart, lunch, two drink tickets and prizes are included.

The registration fee is $500 for a foursome ($400 for graduates of the last decade) or $150 for an individual golfer. Alumni and friends are encouraged to sign up as a foursome.
