Why you should get to know EDGE

The Entrepreneurial Center (EDGE) could be for you, if you are interested in:

  • Graphic design
  • Coding
  • Marketing, public relations or social media
  • Writing and research
  • Video editing
  • Event planning and project management

Or maybe you hope to own your own business someday, or just want to learn skills that will give you real world experience

EDGE is located in Olin 104. The center houses several student groups:

The Augustana Web Guild, a student group that functions as its own web development business with more than 225 clients on annual contract. (Skills: web development, coding, graphic design, content strategy, client communication )

ADs is a student group that competes in the annual National Student Advertising Competition. (Skills: research, idea generation, graphic design, presentation skills, teamwork)

Her Campus is a student group that publishes a weekly online magazine featuring relevant articles empowering women. (Skills: writing, editing, graphic design, social media, marketing, event planning, time management, teamwork, communication)

Enactus (Cool-QC) is working on a creative marketing campaign for the Quad Cities, heavy in video storytelling. (Skills: interviewing, video production, video editing, writing, photography)

advantEDGE Design designers work on a number of projects, including book layouts, the campus printed directory, letterheads, logos, handouts, flyers, and business cards. (Skills: graphic design, time management, client communication)

Video & Photography  includes the Black Squirrel Productions student group, which produces videos, and Photo Club.

EDGE Event Planning assists in running an international conference of family therapists throughout the year. (Skills: event planning, event logistics, client communication, time management)

The EDGE Center is open to students of all majors, no matter what their experience level. Most students begin without any experience and learn as they go. You can take part as an extracurricular, or you can register an internship in EDGE for credit.
