Augustana's campus account with online trainer Lynda.com gives students access to hundreds of relevant online courses. Students may learn at their own pace when it's convenient and as time allows.

Lynda offers four kinds of learning:

1. Videos are bite-sized tutorials that cover a single subtopic within a course.

2. Courses cover topics and include videos on specific subtopics.

3. Articles include news, insights, and inspirational stories.

4. Playlists, curated by experts on various subjects.

Suggested courses and playlists

Here are some suggested Lynda courses, to give a sample of what's available:

Go Job Hunting is a playlist of related courses, including job hunting, effective resumes, building a professional network, interviewing, negotiating for salary and insights from a career coach.

Job Search Strategies shows how to develop a personal profile and brand, seek advertised and unadvertised positions, network successfully and work with recruiting professionals. 

Job Hunting Online is a two-hour course. Topics include using popular job sites such as Monster, Simply Hired, and Indeed, networking and finding jobs on LinkedIn, using Twitter to search for jobs, scanning sites of companies you want to work for, and approaching recruiters.

Creating an Effective Resume covers how to build a resume that encompasses action statements, keywords, styling, and effective content. It also shows how to conduct employer research and use keyword optimization to increase a resume's potential of being found. Also included are tips on cover letters and thank-you notes.

Designing a Resume is a one-hour course with three different approaches to make a resume stand out.

Land an Internship is a playlist that includes interviewing and tips from a career coach.
