10 things TRIO can do for you

Augustana students eligible for TRIO-SSS find personalized, side-by-side support so they can overcome academic and life challenges, and excel. Open spots in the program are limited and available by application only.

Here are 10 things TRIO can do for you:

1.    Now that you have successfully enrolled in college, you’ll have support for continued success in managing the ups and downs of college life.

2.    Your TRIO advisor will work closely with you to personalize services to your goals and needs, with a focus on how to build and use your strengths to achieve your career and life goals.

3.    Need a tutor, want a tutor, for any class, no matter what your grade? TRIO waives the grade requirement of C or lower for individual tutoring, and online tutoring is available to you 24/7.

4.    TRIO offers in-depth workshops and tools to help you find scholarships and grants. TRIO also offers step-by-step guidance in filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and better understanding your aid award, so your financial support for the year is more secure and transparent. 

5.    Speaking of financial matters, TRIO helps improve your financial literacy — skills that everyone needs to deal with everyday and long-term financial decisions.

6.    Need to borrow a laptop, calculator, or some other tech hardware? Need access to an expensive, essential textbook? TRIO has a lending library that helps to reduce your college costs.

7.    Completing strong applications for graduate and professional school can be a challenge, especially while you’re a busy undergrad. TRIO is here to help with the steps, including waivers for application fees and grad school admission tests such as the GRE and MCAT.

8.    In a difficult world, TRIO offers a positive environment and a community focused on joy, well-being and service. You’ll have opportunities to take trips to nearby cities and give back to the community.
