Interfaith Engagement
The Center collaborates with student religious groups and local churches, mosques, synagogues and temples to foster community and seek understanding within religious diversity. It houses Augustana’s Interreligious Leadership Experiential Minor, where students participate in interreligious dialogue and conflict resolution, applying their skills to careers in public policy, health care, international business, and beyond.
Chaplain Melinda Pupillo is currently working with Augustana faculty and staff, as well as faith leaders from the Quad Cities area, to live out Augustana's Interfaith Engagement Action Plan. The plan will:
- Provide training and resources to build knowledge and skills related to interfaith cooperation.
- Raise awareness of diverse religious and non-religious identities and experiences on campus.
- Facilitate interfaith relationships and collaboration, and
- Integrate interfaith learning into curriculum and co-curricular activities.
