Viking Connections: Rachel Buttimer

Rachel Buttimer is a resident physician in family medicine at Genesis Family Medicine Residency Center in Davenport, Iowa.

"I’d love to be a resource for students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine! There are many paths that lead to becoming a physician and it would be a joy to work with students to help them find the best path for them as an individual and support them on their journey! I have in recent years navigated MCAT prep, job shadowing, research, gaining patient contact hours, gap years,  asking for letters of recommendation, writing a personal statement, writing a CV or resume, medical school applications, selecting osteopathic or allopathic medicine, etc. The world of medicine is ever changing, so I’m happy to be a current source of knowledge just out of medical school and starting residency."
