Academic skills workshops for students

Students who would like to improve their study skills are invited to any of the free workshops. These workshops are led by the Director of Academic Support or by one of our Peer Academic Coaches.

Time Management
Wednesday, Sept. 18, 5-6 p.m., Olin 305
Thursday, Oct. 10, 4-5 p.m., Olin 202

Feeling overwhelmed? You're not alone! The fall semester can be incredibly intense, and this workshop focuses on essential skills needed to begin the semester strong. Together, we will talk about time management strategies that will help you become more organized, less stressed, and more balanced. We will also discuss strategies to create a schedule and how use your time as productively as possible. 

Motivation and Procrastination
Tuesday, Oct. 8, 4-5 p.m., Asian Pacific Islander Desi American House
Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1-2 p.m., Olin 305

It can be challenging to maintain your momentum throughout the semester, and sometimes we lose our “umph” to continue our good study habits. This workshop covers ways to tap into our motivation to tackle those things that we aren’t as driven or excited about doing, ways to manage our procrastination, and how we can ultimately get things done when we plan to!

Academic Stress and Test Anxiety
Monday, Nov. 18, 6-7 p.m., Olin 305
Thursday, Nov. 21, 6-7 p.m., Asian Pacific Islander Desi American House

This workshop is led and designed by our Peer Academic Coach. Academic Stress and test anxiety impacts us all in different ways and at varying levels of severity. It can hinder or performance on tests and exams, but together in this workshop, we will learn about the research and strategies to manage our anxiety to have a more successful and less stressful Augie experience.
