Frieze Lecture: 'Intersectionality Explained: Why Feminism is About More than Gender Equality'
Jennifer Heacock-Renaud, coordinator of the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) program at Augustana College, will present.
Frieze Lectures to examine feminism starting Oct. 19
The Frieze Lectures series continues for its 26th year, from Oct. 19 to Nov. 9. The free public lecture series was created to celebrate the oldest library in Illinois, the Rock Island Public Library, founded under the Local Library Act of 1872.
Augustana’s Ariano ’25 named a Bandits Scholar
Recognized for excellence in and out of the classroom, Kade Ariano '25 received a scholarship that pays for his junior year’s tuition at Augustana and a paid internship with the Quad Cities River Bandits in the summer of 2024.
Symposium Day
Once a semester, Augustana devotes a full day to an alternative approach for learning and opens the process to the entire campus community.
This multidisciplinary approach to discuss a theme exemplifies the value of liberal learning.
Global Ambassadors welcome international students
Augustana welcomes 192 first-year and transfer international students this year. Seven Global Ambassadors, who are returning international students, assist the new students throughout the year.
