Smith '02 to succeed Hammer in Arctic hunt for dinosaurs

For a while, Nate Smith '02 wasn't sure where college would lead him. He came to Augustana as a chemistry major, thinking he would go back to teach and coach at his old high school in Crystal Lake outside Chicago. Then he took an honors course with paleontologist Dr. William Hammer.

College receives $1.5M from John Deere Foundation for data analytics

Augustana College will receive a $1.5 million grant from the John Deere Foundation to establish the Robert A. Hanson Endowed Chair in Data Analytics. He was a 1948 graduate of Augustana who had a 40-year career with Deere and served as CEO from 1982-1990.

Intramural sports and student recreation are housed at the PepsiCo Center. It has 44,000 square feet of gym floor, which is encircled by a new six-lane, 200-meter track.
