World Food Day
Join the members of Augustana Local Agriculture Society (ALAS) and Campus Kitchens as they celebrate World Food Day. An estimated 5-10% of Augie students are currently food insecure, therefore the goal of World Food Day is to spread awareness about food and environmental justice issues.
Identity Crisis: Spanish Verbs as Nouns
The Department of World Languages will present a research colloquium by Dr. Jeff Renaud, assistant professor of Spanish, "Identity Crisis: Spanish Verbs as Nouns."
Dr. Renaud specializes in Spanish phonology, the linguistics concerned with the organization of sounds in languages.
Men's golf: Fall Shootout
The Augustana men's golf team will host the Viking Fall Shootout beginning at noon.
Center for Creativity CATalyst Lab opening
The Center for Creativity invites campus to the official opening of the center's CATalyst Lab from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in Bergendoff 103.
There will be an opening toast at 11:45 and refreshments.
Memorial for Dr. Dorothy Parkander
Augustana Chaplain Richard Priggie will lead a memorial service for Dr. Dorothy Parkander.
Dr. Parkander, a 50-year member of the Augustana faculty, died Oct. 8 at the age of 93.
"The Hate U Give" private screening
The Multicultural Programming Board (MPB) Campus Awareness and Outreach committee is taking students to watch “The Hate U give” in Davenport’s Cinemax next Friday. This event is a follow-up from the symposium day presentation, “Why My People?”.
Kali Yuga Improvisation Ensemble
Dr. Randall Hall and Augustana's Kali Yuga improvisation ensemble will explore the acoustic possibilities of the Figge Art Museum while considering the artistic influences of the French Modern era that have helped shape the music today.
