The Augie1Gen Rising Scholars Program invites first-generation students to enjoy a picnic together with first-generation faculty and staff from 12-6 p.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be provided.

Learn-to-crochet workshop
This is the second learn-to-crochet workshop and it will be offered from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport.Community members will crochet small circles that will form a larger public art project in October on 7th Avenue in Rock Island .

This fall, Augustana will seek the help of Quad-City citizens to "yarn bomb" a tree along 7th Avenue in Rock Island.
