Leadership Lunch: Emotional Intelligence with Dr. Jessica Schultz

Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to understand and manage your own emotions, and those of the people around you. People with a high emotional intelligence know what they're feeling, what their emotions mean, and how these emotions can affect other people.

Junior Rebecca Hobson will perform a recital on oboe. She is a biology and general music major from Sussex, Wis.

Swenson Hall of Geosciences

The departments of geography and geology are located in the Swenson Hall of Geosciences.

The hall has a geographic information system (GIS) lab for students and faculty to use.

It's also the home of the Fryxell Geology Museum.

Formerly the New Science Building, the remodeled Swenson Hall of Geosciences opened in 1968 and was renovated in 2001. It is named after Carl E. Swenson of Rockford in honor of his bequest to Augustana.

Environmental studies open house

Students interested in a major or minor in environmental studies are invited to an open house with Dr. Michael Reisner and Dr. Reuben Heine, co-chairs of the program.
