ACLU Senior Staff Attorney Emerson Sykes will present the lecture “Freedom of expression and freedom of inquiry in polarized time” at the free March 4 lecture.

’06 grad impacting families with PherDal Fertility Science
Some people make a career of improving lives. Dr. Jenn Hintzsche ’06 also helps create them. The FDA has granted clearance to an at-home insemination kit that allows would-be parents to take control of their experience. Dr. Hintzsche created the device.

Delp introduced as men's basketball head coach
A 2009 graduate of Augustana, Jordan Delp played for the Vikings from 2004-2009. He was named acting head coach in December 2023.

Five years of Augustana’s January Term
Augustana College students take a break from their 15-week semester schedule to engage in a month-long period of intensive learning during January Term, or J-term. This three-and-a-half week course was added as part of the college’s transition to semesters in 2019-2020.

Augustana's Symphonic Band touring Midwest in March
Directed by Dr. James Lambrecht, the tour marks the Augustana Symphonic Band’s first domestic tour since the 2020 pandemic.

Augustana Choir to tour California in March
Directed by Dr. Jon Hurty, the 54-member Augustana Choir will perform in California March 21-25, followed by a home concert on April 6.
Augustana names two new trustees
Robert Anderson and Ronald Workman, both 1980 Augustana graduates, were elected Jan. 27 at the college's winter retreat.
Augustana students, staff assisting QC tax filers
Augustana students are assisting the United Way Quad Cities Volunteer Income Tax Assistant Coalition to help local residents in need.

Slough drainage and restoration updates
On Nov. 12, crews from the City of Rock Island will begin draining the Slough in order to relocate a water pipe. The project, which will move a primary water line from under the Slough to under the Slough Path, will allow for easier access to the pipe in the event of future needed repairs.
