Homecoming and Family Weekend 2023 draws a crowd
Nearly 2,000 students, alumni and friends of the college gathered on campus Oct. 6-8 for Homecoming and Family Weekend. Bingo was a hot ticket for alumni of the last 10 years, and the 30th anniversary celebration for Latinx Unidos was a star-studded affair. Here's a look at the weekend festivities.
Augustana’s Board of Trustees names six new members
The new trustees, including five alumni, were elected Oct. 6. Each will serve a term of four years.
A day of transformation at Symposium Day
Augustana devotes a full day to an alternative approach for learning with Symposium Days held once per semester. Students, faculty and the Quad-Cities community were invited to chose from among 20 sessions, including three keynote speakers, for the fall 2023 Symposium Day.

Augustana to host naturalization ceremony
More than 90 new citizens are expected to take part in the ceremony presided by the Honorable Sara Darrow, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Central Illinois District. The event is part of Augustana's annual observance of Constitution Day, which was Sept. 17
Augustana’s John Deere Planetarium to host solar eclipse viewing
The event will feature safe telescope and naked-eye views of the partial eclipse of the sun from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. Free indoor and outdoor programs in the planetarium, observatory and geology museum are planned.

The 39th ranking edition from U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 1,500 colleges and universities on as many as 19 measures.
‘The President’s Own’ U.S. Marine Band to perform at Augustana Oct. 13
The ensemble will perform at Centennial Hall Oct. 13. This marks the Marine Band's first Midwest tour in five years and the first time performing at Augustana College.
PBK Visiting Scholar addresses urgent climate crisis
