Three students researched the painted dog species this summer in Zimbabwe. Offered through Augustana's CORE office, the internship aligned perfectly with what the students want to pursue in the future — wildlife conservation and rehabilitation, and wildlife medicine.

Augustana is more affordable than families may think. A bold new financial aid program plus other grants and scholarships keep costs lower—often in comparison with large state schools.

Quad-Cities residents asked to complete bike safety survey

Augustana College students, in conjunction with faculty from Augustana and St. Ambrose University, will use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to map the region's growing bike infrastructure network and to identify locations where safety for cyclists can be improved.

Unearthing students' love for geology

Four Augustana students have hit the ground running with their summer geology internships. Projects include studying the formation and evolution of ancient mountain belts, paleontology research, studying geological maps in zinc mines and installing seismometers for earthquake detection.

City of Rock Island, Augustana launch water service lines survey

The city of Rock Island and Augustana College are seeking to engage Rock Island residents in an inventory of water service lines in the city. Rock Island residents, both homeowners and renters, are asked to complete an online survey by the end of July.

High jumper Gabriela Loiz '23 earned All-American status at the NCAA DIII Outdoor National Championships in Rochester, N.Y. She is Augustana's first women's All-American in the high jump since 1997.

Administrators from the City of Rock Island and Augustana College broke ground on a six-court tennis complex at Lincoln Park, adjacent to campus. The project is slated to open for use by the college and the community this fall.
