Ready to Respond Campus

Augustana College is one of only two 4-year institutions in Illinois that is accredited through the Illinois Emergency Management Agency as a Ready to Respond campus. Criteria include a requirement that campuses take an “all hazards” approach to planning and training for potential events. 

StormReady®

The National Weather Service has certified Augustana College as a StormReady® Campus. This means the college has met specific criteria that have been verified by the National Weather Service and an emergency manager. This process includes a review of the college’s hazardous weather plan to ensure we meet their guidelines.

Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) partners with ambassadors to promote Weather-Ready National messages, engage with NOAA personnel on potential collaboration opportunities, shares success stories of preparedness and resiliency and serves as an example by educating employees on workplace preparedness (National Weather Service).
