Graduation information May 22, 2022

Augustana College will hold its 162nd Commencement Convocation at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

The ceremony will be held at the TaxSlayer Center, 1201 River Drive, Moline, Ill. 

Doors will open at noon for those who need accessible seating. Doors will open to the public at 12:15 p.m. 

The ceremony will be live-streamed and archived on the college’s YouTube channel. 

No tickets are required for the ceremony, but this is subject to change depending upon COVID-19 restrictions. Attendees will walk through metal detectors before entering the center. Purses, backpacks and bags should be left at home or in a vehicle, if possible.

The TaxSlayer Center has sufficient seating capacity for commencement and is accessible for people with disabilities. Graduating students or family members with seating or accessibility concerns are encouraged to check with the TaxSlayer Center for details. 

Baccalaureate

Baccalaureate will celebrated at 10 a.m. Sunday at Centennial Hall. Graduates are invited to wear their caps and gowns and sit with their families and friends. The Rev. Melinda Pupillo, campus chaplain and director of spiritual development, will speak.

Other events will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2022: 

• The Augustana Bookstore will be open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on graduation Sunday.

• 2 p.m. Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology Hooding Ceremony, Wallenberg Hall. MS-SLP candidates should wear their caps and gowns. Family and friends are invited to attend.

• 4 p.m. Honors convocation at Centennial Hall.

• 6 p.m. Senior Send-Off at the Gerber Center. Graduates and their families are invited to a festive evening of food, music and fun. A cash bar from Bent River Brewery will be available for those who are 21. Live music will be provided. Each student receives a complimentary ticket, plus two complimentary tickets for guests; more tickets can be purchased from the Ticket Office for $12 each. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
