Support the Gerber Grand Challenge in Philanthropy

The Gerber Grand Challenge in Philanthropy is a commitment made by alumnus Murry Gerber '75 for $40 million endowed financial aid for high-achieving students from low income backgrounds. Funds from the Gerber Grand Challenge then fuel Augustana Possible, a bold new financial aid program that meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for qualifying newly enrolled students.

The commitment by Murry Gerber requires the college to find other donors interested in support of today’s and tomorrow’s Augustana students. Murray committed his $40 million, and the commitment outlines the gift as a dollar-for-dollar match until the full match has been achieved. Learn how to get involved.

Your gifts support passionate curiosity.

Joel Padgett, a 2021 graduate pursuing Ph.D in geology at University of Calgary has this to say about the Augustana experience:

"I never thought that I’d be a certified SCUBA diver or recreational drone pilot, that I’d travel to Europe and the Caribbean. I never thought that I’d have a job that pays me to talk about writing, and I never thought I’d get to make music with some of the most incredible musicians I have ever met. And yet, in four short years, I did all that and so much more."
