Semester transition requirements for transfer students

General requirements:

Transfer students are expected to complete all requirements of the college either through transfer coursework or while enrolled at the college.

1. 60 credits earned at Augustana, and the last 24 in residence at the college.
2. 40 credits at the 300-400 level.
3. FYI 101 (College Writing) or equivalent Composition I transfer course.
4. LSC-300, a course specifically designed for transfer students at Augustana.
5. One 200-level course in Reasoned Examination of Faith (REF) or Christians Traditions (CT courses carry an LP).
6. One course in Quantitative reasoning (Q).
7. One global perspective (G) course and one diversity (D) course.
8. One year or equivalent of second language.
9. Two physical activity courses or a comparable transfer course
10. Learning Perspectives: Use the term/year you transferred into Augustana:

Transferred prior to fall 2018

Take one course in each of the six Learning Perspectives and two additional courses from 2 different Learning Perspectives, for a total of eight courses.

Learning Communities are being phased out as we transition to semesters, which may make it difficult to complete the current requirement of taking an LC-designated course by the time you graduate. To accommodate this change, the requirement can be fulfilled by completing an Augustana LC, OR by substituting one of the following:

• Complete a J-term class senior year

• Complete an additional LP class (any class in any LP area; no prefix specifications). For this option, the student would have at least 10 LP classes in all.

• Complete a Gen Ed-designated Senior Inquiry course or experience

Transferred fall 2018 or later

Take one course in each of the six Learning Perspectives, for a total of six courses.
