Here are the answers to questions most often asked by students and their families now.
Is COVID-19 testing required? No
Students are encouraged to be tested for COVID-19, where possible, before they arrive at Augustana for the fall semester.
However, surveillance testing will start with students who arrive early, and continue with the first week of classes and throughout the term.
Only students, faculty and staff who volunteer to participate will be tested.
When will I hear about my distance learning status?
Students who have applied for distance learning status will get a letter from the Dean of Students by Aug. 14. The letter will include a link to Arches to view their updated financial aid packages.
Students will have until Aug. 17 to commit to distance learning.
When will the dining hall be open? Yes
Can I still get a parking pass? Yes
Will students be allowed to leave campus once they arrive for fall classes? Yes
Yes, students will be allowed to leave campus and return at their leisure.
Through education and awareness, plus the pledge that students will sign, college administrators believe students will understand the risks associated with travel.
Will students move into the dorms? Yes
Yes. Students will be expected to practice social distancing and wear masks.
There will be space for quarantine and isolation if needed.

Is Augustana considering the plan that other schools are taking, under which students don't return after Thanksgiving break until J-term?
Classes will start on campus Aug. 31.
The academic calendar has been revised. Students now have the option not to return to campus after Thanksgiving.
