Good afternoon,

I am pleased to share with you the leadership profile for the ninth president of Augustana College. We formally have launched the search for the next president of Augustana. This leadership profile will be published in a wide variety of publications beginning this week and will start the formal recruiting process.  

I trust that you see the Augustana we all know and love when you review this profile. It represents the thoughts and contributions of our entire community: the board of trustees, the faculty, the administration, students, alumni and community leaders. While that may sound like a challenge, it was fascinating and encouraging to see how much agreement there was among all of these groups when asked about what skills and traits are important for the next leader of Augustana College.

The launch of the search marks a busy period for our partners at Academic Search as presidential candidates are identified. The Presidential Search Committee will begin the process of reviewing all applicants in early September. It will be challenging work, but we will be moved by our mission of identifying a leader of Augustana College who will meet the leadership agenda with care, confidence, compassion and skill.
