Housing sign-up
Living on campus is one of the most memorable experiences of a student's time at Augustana. The following steps and timetables will let you know what to do and when.
1. Complete the housing application
Please fill out your housing application in your My Housing portal by June 30. You can also complete your profile and complete the roommate questionnaire. You can then search for your perfect roommate, or we can match you with someone.
2. Pay your housing deposit
All students residing in campus housing for the academic year are required to submit a housing deposit of $150. This will be refunded in July of your last year in campus housing.
Note: International students should pay their deposit after they have secured their U.S. visa.
3. Watch your email for your housing assignment
By mid-July, the Office of Residential Life will share your residence hall, room number and roommate information via email.
4. Plan to move in
- Fall athletes will receive a move-in date from their coach.
- Students participating in PACE will move in on Aug. 24.
- International students can arrive on Aug. 24 or 25.
- All other domestic students will move in the morning of August 29.
When you arrive, you will receive your room key and student ID. More information about move-in will be shared in August.
If you have questions about housing, email Residential Life or call 309-794-2686.

Hair dryers, which are very high-wattage devices, should be used in the bathroom areas only.
Moving in
Students should check in at their assigned residence hall, where they will get their room key and student ID. Volunteers will be available to help carry belongings on Aug. 29, but not for early arrivals.
This interactive move-in map shows routes, unloading areas (highlighted in yellow) and parking areas (highlighted in red).
Note that Westerlin has three separate unloading areas for each wing of the building: I-Wing unloads near Erickson, J-Wing unloads in the circle drive near PepsiCo, and W-Wing unloads on 10th Ave.
International students: Aug. 24-25
New international students should plan to arrive at Augustana College Sunday, Aug. 24, or Monday, Aug. 25, for the fall semester. Orientation will be held Aug. 26-28, 2025.
Be sure to complete the travel plans form to help us make arrangements for your arrival. Students will need to send the Office of International Student & Scholar Services a complete itinerary (not just arrival time in Moline).
As a reminder, arrivals outside of the mandatory arrival dates of Sunday, Aug. 24, and Monday, Aug. 25, cannot be accommodated by the Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISSS).

Frequently asked questions
Can I select my building?
No. Like other incoming students, you will be assigned randomly to Westerlin, Andreen or Seminary.
Can I select my roommate?
Yes. If two or three students want to room together, they will need to select each other as roommates from housing.augustana.edu. Students can create roommate groups of 2 or 3 people.
Most incoming students do not select their own roommates. The housing application includes questions about your living habits, which the Office of Residential Life will use to pair you with a compatible roommate. Please don’t feel any pressure to find your own roommate!
If you know whom you want to live with, after completing your application, choose “Select Roommates” under "Housing Selection." All students in a group must confirm. Note that you will only be able to find someone in the system after they have completed their housing application.
If you want to search for a roommate in the system, create a roommate profile under "Personal Information." You can then search for students using the lifestyle questions from the application.
How do I request medical accommodations for housing?
If you have a medical condition that requires a particular accommodation, please complete the medical accommodation form and attach supporting documentation by June 30 to ensure that you receive an assignment that meets your needs.
Do all of the halls have air conditioning?
Not all first-year residence halls have air conditioning. While the first few weeks of the school year will be warm, the weather during most of the school year ranges from comfortable to cold. If you require air conditioning due to a medical condition, please submit a medical accommodation request by June 30.
How does laundry work?
Laundry costs $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to dry. Students will need to download the Family Pride Pay mobile app to pay for laundry on campus.
- Family Pride Pay mobile app instructions:
- Download the Family Pride Pay app from the App Store or Google Play and create an account.
- When you enter the laundry room and open the app, your phone will "find" the machines and show what is available or busy.
- Choose your machine by scanning the QR code sticker via the app.
- Confirm the vend price, load your clothes and detergent then press the blinking start button on the machine.
How are the rooms furnished?
Each student will have an extra-long twin bed, a desk, a desk chair, a dresser and closet space. Each room also includes a trash bin, a recycling bin, and window blinds.
Can I loft my bed?
- Andreen: All beds in Andreen come lofted. Due to the size, shape, and layout of the rooms, two lofted beds in Andreen work best. Bed height adjustments can be requested through your MyHousing portal. Fees apply.
- Seminary: The triple rooms in Seminary are all two-room suites. The standard setup seems to be most popular. We suggest keeping the beds in their original configuration. Bed height adjustments can be requested through your MyHousing portal. Fees apply.
- Westerlin: The beds in Westerlin will come at a 3’ height, with the dressers under the beds. If you would like to have your bed lofted, please submit your order online in your MyHousing portal before Aug. 1. The fee for a loft is $100 before Aug. 1, and $130 after Aug. 1.
Can I rent a microfridge combo unit?
Yes! Microwave-refrigerator-freezer combo units can be ordered through our partner MicroFridge. Orders placed by August 1 will be delivered to your room before you arrive in the Fall and picked up again after you move out in May.
What are the dimensions of my room?
We provide floor plan drawings of all of our first year residence hall rooms on our website. After you get your housing assignment in mid-July, you can find the dimensions of your room here.
