About summer orientation and registration
During summer O&R days, incoming students will receive their fall course schedule, have opportunities to engage in social programming with their peers and learn about important programs and offices that will assist them in transitioning to college.
Family and friends who attend orientation can participate in information sessions about their student’s academic journey, moving into the residence halls, parking on campus, billing and financial aid, student supports, and much more.
Students, family and friends will also enjoy lunch in the Gerber Dining Center during their O&R visit and will have opportunities to talk one-on-one with several offices during a resource fair.

Welcome Week

All new students should plan to participate in Welcome Week activities Friday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 1.
Welcome Week is an orientation program that equips students with knowledge to navigate their first semester both inside and outside the classroom and provides social engagements to connect with peers.
All new students are expected to participate in Welcome Week. The schedule is robust and blends academic, co-curricular and social programming into a long weekend full of learning and fun.
PACE Multicultural Mentorship Program
PACE (Preparation, Awareness, Community, Engagement) is a year-long mentorship program for first-year and transfer students of color.
The PACE program starts on campus before Welcome Week and continues throughout your important first year at Augustana.
PACE 2025 orientation is Sunday, Aug. 24, through Thursday, Aug. 28.
International student orientation
International Student Orientation (ISO) runs from Aug. 24-28, 2025.
What to expect
New international students arrive on campus before Welcome Week to participate in a five-day orientation program designed to assist students in navigating Augustana College, Rock Island and the Quad Cities.
Orientation provides new international students opportunities to set up U.S. bank accounts, go shopping at markets away from campus, and engage with one another in social activities. By arriving early, the program provides ample time for students to move into their residence hall rooms, get adjusted to what is a different time zone for many students, and to learn where essential things are on campus such as classrooms, dining, and recreational spaces.
Arrival and questions
Transportation assistance for ISO arrival from the Quad Cities Airport is available through the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS).
International students should direct questions and share information about their arrival and needs to both the OISSS office and their Admissions Counselor.
